Big Changes, New Horizons: The Future of Best Worst Cantina

What's Next For Best Worst Cantina?

A lot has changed recently — including moving across the world to Bangkok, Thailand. One of the biggest shifts has been transitioning Best Worst Cantina to this platform. For those unfamiliar, Best Worst Cantina has been my personal publishing and media production company since I graduated college and started working in Chicago.

The name "Best Worst Cantina" has always sparked curiosity. Truthfully, I just loved the idea of "the best worst" bar — a place only you see the beauty in, where unexpected magic happens. It’s the dive bar with amazing people, the Cheers bar, or even the spaces where St. Patrick preached. A dusty stool, a cold drink, a good conversation, and a bathroom that needs some TLC. That ethos has shaped our content over the years, and while we’ll continue producing digital content, it’s evolving from what it was in my 20s.

One of the biggest transitions is no longer hosting a dedicated website for Best Worst Cantina. The internet and its audiences have changed, and even bigger companies than mine have made similar moves.

Best Worst Cantina has always been about experimenting with storytelling. While we’ve focused heavily on sketch comedy, we’ve also explored sports documentaries, music videos, and even magazines. Moving forward, storytelling will remain at the heart of everything we do — because that’s what started it all and what drives me personally.

We're here to have a good time.

The Re-release of The Dads: Good Kids Daad City

One of my recent solo efforts is the re-release of The Dads: Good Kids Daad City through our podcast Best Worst Stories. Producing that album with the original cast was such a joy, and I’m thrilled to share it again alongside follow-up projects under The Dads’ banner.

Streaming available on Spotify and other platforms.

The Transition of The Dads

Speaking of The Dads, it’s undergoing its own transformation. The current cast will perform their final live shows at Chaos Bloom in April, May, and June. Over the years, The Dads has been a hybrid: part digital comedy brand, part sketch comedy team. But maintaining such a multifaceted creative front has proven challenging. Moving forward, The Dads will focus exclusively on digital content, evolving in bold new ways that I’m genuinely excited about.

One of these bold new directions is continuing the Dadhalla universe across different formats. Good Kids Daad City was always meant to exist across various mediums. While I had hoped The Dads could grow into something akin to Monty Python or Broken Lizard, I still see incredible potential to experiment further. Currently, I’m exploring comics and animation as ways to keep this world alive and thriving.

At the heart of these projects is one of my favorite characters, Dave Garrison. Originally born out of The Dads’ satirical take on improv, Dave has taken on a life of his own. I’m excited to continue creating with him in new and exciting ways.

What’s Next?

Best Worst Cantina will continue to focus on storytelling, but with a sharper lens. Whether through reimagined podcasts, digital sketches, or new mediums like comics and animation, the goal is to push boundaries and create something unforgettable.

Thanks for sticking with me through all these transitions.

We may not make millions, but we do make a living. I believe creativity is at the core of a healthy spirit, and Best Worst Cantina has been a way for me to create my own work — even when it’s hard to do so. I’m deeply thankful for your support, and one of the best ways you can help is by becoming a Patreon supporter or YouTube channel member. Every bit goes into creating better content, giving you a direct hand in the creative process.
